Commentary
On the weekends the crew from Boston Latin's Table Tennis Society used to get together to play b-ball and tennis on Saturdays and a rare few Sundays. I joined on about midway of 9th grade, having just gotten acquainted with most of the people. As the months and years went by, people came and left, while others continue to surprise us with a visit from time to time, but even after 3 1/2 years of college, we're still a small, semi-tight group who tries to get out at least half the time we're all in the Boston area for a little street b-ball. We all have our good and bad days, some more bad than good; I personally have a mean three-pointer (nothin' but net, baby!), that's my claim to fame. Some might stop and wonder what the rest of our BLS class did, or does, on Saturdays, who knows. Afterwards, we generally hit up Cambridgeside Galleria for lunch or dinner, depending, then either came back or went off to catch some nerdy flick or bowling, whatever. At one point we all used to show up and leaveon the T, getting off the D or E trolleys at the Science Park stop nearby (hence the name of the webpage), though a few were dropped off/picked up by their 'rents. Over the years, more and more of us started showing up in our own rides, including myself. Now, the majority of us either show up in our own ride or get a ride from others. If we just went straight home, it'd be a waste, but it does help when we're going off to a movie or bowling or someone's house, such as Dave, nowhere near a T stop or frequent service. I miss the whole taking the E train on Saturday thing, but I'm still the number one supporter of public trans in my generation (plus I'm a freakin' bus driver, dammit), so I make up for it.
