Pictures of The Train Mon!
My first trip ever to UMass Amherst. This was in Cashin.
Down at the grands in SC, my lil' cous' "doing" my hair.
A self-pic taken after returning from BLS Prize Night. Yes, I still look that good in a suit... the same suit. Yah, Gold's Gym is really working for me...
On Peter Pan
My 1999 logo at the size used in pics taken 1999 through most of 2000. The 2000 logo is M.I.A. by the way, I don't know what I did with the file.
The full-sized version of my 1999 logo. The original logo dates to '96-'97, In 1999 when I woke up and realized that it was faster to affix my logo to pics than to write "invisible" copyright information on them, I used the original logo with the "(c) 1999" branding.
My 2001 logo. I wanted to try something slightly different from the past two years by putting the "ONE" as I did.
For the 2002, currently plastered all over the website, including this page's background, I decided I wanted to spice things up in commemoration of me getting Class B license during the summer of 2001. Therefore I used a more tasteful font for the "2002" and even the "(c) 2002," and fused in a pic of me in the driver's seat of one of UMass Transit's 40' RTS buses out at Mount Holyoke College (3010 to be exact).
Who Am I?
1. First, really, who are you?
Is it reall that important. SBM, 23, Middle of Nowhere Wester Mass., file under "Guy looking for Chick at Least 5/10"
2. Here's the ultimate question: Where did "Train Mon" come from?
Train Mon" was originally a nickname given to me by my father around '95 because of my love for trains, but really all issues related to public transportation. Like most nicknames, it started out as annoying, but after a while I thought it would be cool, and I took it on as my calling. It is now my official webmaster name. Plus, back in the day when I used to write freestyle lyrics I went by that calling as well.
3. You freestyle (rapped)?
Well not verbally. Let's be honest, I can't sing... and rapping, well, not a priority in my life. Nevertheless, back in high school, say around 10th-12th grade, a small bunch of friends and I used to write lyrics on a well-designed website known as "Rhythmology." "Freestyle" referred to the rapidity with which we responded to each other and the fact that, yes, if any of us truly had the balls to get up in front of a mic and belt out some lyrics, then it would be true freestyling of sorts. Some of the kids I "battled" with on the website did do just that... and last I checked they aren't the next 50-Cents or Eminems of the world. Plus, after we all went off to college, the site quietly faded away into, still a better fate than its webmaster who turned into a pothead and didn't even finish UMass Amherst. Still not giving out his name, that's just wrong. The only person I've ever verbally battled is my cousin, and even he isn't quitting his day job, although he was all into it all through college with a bunch of friends and showed way more promise than I ever will. So "Train Mon" is right back where it started--my nickname for my hobby, one of my passions, and my career.
4. So, back to "Train Mon"--how did it ever become "The Train Mon!"
"The Train Mon!" came about in 1999 when I got my first
5. Got that, but why trains in the first place?
Well actually I've just been a transportation buff since the beginning of (my) time; my original passion was actually trucks, espcially Mack trucks which still ply down the busy streets of my childhood home. Then actually Volvos, then the Buick Park Avenue and all Caddy's, then any huge sedan, 4-doored preferably, then trains, then buses, then planes and boats, mainly commercial liners. Trains just kinda stick out there because I grew up in a city with an extensive network of trolley, subway and commuter rail access, i.e. the MBTA, as well as Amtrak. Growing up without a car in the household gave me ample opportunity to partake of many of these modes of transportation; Amtrak intericty travel definitely was the most influential, but also local riding on the MBTA E Line (Green Line), which runs near my house. I could go on for hours, but that's it for now, more later on this oft-asked question, I've got a whole website to run, not just this page.
6. Marital Status, if you will
Single and casually looking. It's not my style or goal to be with somebody constantly just to say "hey, I'm with her." That being said, I feel no point in going after women labeled "too easy," becuase, well, it's too easy. Yah, think Cruel Intentions.
6. Do or did you ever have crushes on anyone?
Sure, have had and still have, but crushes are fantasies, it's like "I can look, but can't touch." Screw that.
7. Does it bother you that your ex has been out with, like, 5 guys since you two broke up and you've just had some great dates here and there?
Not really, especially given the fact that she made a major mess-up of herself, and for her sake I won't elaborate. It's like I told a female friend the other day, women always have it easier; guys'll go out with anyone and there's always a bazillion looking. Women on the other hand... p-i-c-k-y, but see 5 for the whole deal. I'm not a player, I could bounce from one empty relationship to another to, but why--I'm good, I can wait.
8. Back to transportation things, why "Crystal" for you first ride?
Crystal was in fact the name of the granddaughter of the woman who took me to get money for a down payment on the '84 Buick. I had bussed and biked over to the dealership that fateful Saturday and saw the car at the end of my lot tour and fell in love with it. The dealer said I should put at least something on it to hold it. The $30-something in my wallet wasn't nearly enough, so I had to run to the bank, the nearest being Florence Savings down the road toward Noho or at the Fleet ATM at the Hampshire Mall. The venerable grandmother, in her own landboat, took me first to Florence Savings where I had some kind of withdrawal issues, and then to Fleet where I took out as much money as one can withdraw on the weekend and came back and put the money down on it. So I'm grateful for what she did, but alas, I only caught her name once, but her granddaughter's many times during my ride in the car as she was constantly saying "Crystal, don't...." So, out of respect, I for the woman who helped me get my first car ever, I named the car after her granddaughter.
9. Ok, so what's your present car's name?
The '91 Cavalier is name "Henrietta." It's kinda weird, but it comes from "hurry," describing the hurried process with which I replaced my beloved landboat after I totaled it. "Henrietta" was the closest feminine name I could think of on the spot. I think all the time about renaming it, but why?
10. More?
